And there's costumes, but I'm guessing they're not magic Maybe? And the candy is perfectly normal. Also, something about going into haunted houses. Do I have that right?
That didn't happen with the candy, just the fruit. The candy was just magically cursed in some way.

Calabaza en tacha, however, you're definitely missing out on. It's candied pumpkin! You stew the pieces in cinnamon and in piloncillo so it makes a syrup and the pumpkin turns all soft in it as you're cooking over the course of hours pour a little bit of milk over top and it's supposed to be really nice.
